Retail is vital to the Maine economy and the Retail Association of Maine has proudly served Maine retailers since 1937 with strong advocacy and valuable member benefits.
We work hard to help businesses grow and thrive in our state by advocating for the interests of Maine’s retailers, helping them foster connections, providing opportunities to learn, and offering programs that help save money.
Protection of Maine’s retailers before state lawmakers is RAM’s primary function. When you join, you gain a full-time, year-round lobbying team that develops legislation, provides expert testimony at legislative hearings, and works with government agencies to ensure fair treatment of your business. When state or federal laws are enacted, the Retail Association of Maine will show you how to comply with new requirements or take advantage of changes in statutes.
State boards, agencies and commissions regularly meet on issues and promulgate rulemaking which impacts your operations. The Retail Association of Maine monitors these meetings, provides timely feedback to members, and testimony to these entities to help ensure your voice is heard.
