HISTORY

The Retail Association of Maine was founded in 1937 as the Maine Merchants Association by a group of visionary Maine business people to help promote retailers on a statewide basis and to provide a voice for the industry to our legislative leaders. Today, RAM provides full-time advocacy on behalf of Maine's retail community as well as valuable member services.

Headquartered in Augusta within walking distance to the Statehouse, RAM is led by Curtis Picard, CAE, President and CEO, and a team of talented individuals with extensive experience in retail, government, strategic planning, event management, and media relations.

As the Voice of Retail in the state of Maine, RAM is a trusted resource to help keep business owners informed on issues essential to the industry.
