UPDATE: After a little bit of drama, this bill has been passed by the House and Senate. Governor LePage signed it immediately and the tip credit is restored. Congratulations to Maine's restaurant industry who worked tirelessly to see this enacted.

UPDATE: The bill has passed the Senate with a 23-12 vote. It is tabled in the House.

UPDATE: This bill received an 11-2 Ought to Pass as Amended vote from the LCRED Committee, a very strong vote. The two opposed are Senator Shenna Bellows-D of Kennebec and Representative Michael Sylvester-D of Portland. It now advances to the Senate.
