Faces of Retail: RAM Welcomes New Board Members
A big welcome to the Retail Association of Maine’s newest Board Members, Matt Benedetti of Home Depot and Craig Gorris of the Maine Mall.
Matt Benedetti, Manager, Government Relations for Home Depot began working for The Home Depot in 2003 as a contract lobbyist in Virginia. In 2007, the company needed help with its multi-state government relations efforts and Matt was asked to step in and manage several large regions; at one point including all fifty states, DC, Guam, U.S. Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico. Today his fifteen-state territory is much smaller in size but at times just as challenging since it comprises the mid-Atlantic, the northeast and Texas. Prior to 2003, Matt spent eight years in the energy sector where he developed a comprehensive National Accounts program for an energy holding company whose subsidiaries provide natural gas, and electricity to over 3.7 million customers located within a corridor that runs from the Gulf Coast through the Midwest to New England.
Matt is a graduate of James Madison University with a Bachelors of Business Administration and resides in Richmond, VA with his wife and two college-aged children. He is a Red Sox fan, enjoys a good cup of clam chowda’ but will not under any circumstances wash it down with Moxie.
Craig Gorris, General Manager of the Maine Mall. As General Manager of The Maine Mall since 2006, Craig has the responsibility for enhancing the value of the property, maintaining the physical integrity, creating an environment which enhances guest experience, and supporting tenant sales to position the property for future growth. Craig is an active member of the community and serves on the boards of Visit Portland, the South Portland Cape Elizabeth Regional Chamber, the South Portland Comprehensive Plan Implementation Committee and the Long Creek Watershed Management District. He resides in Cumberland with his wife and four children.
Welcome, Matt & Craig!
