The Maine Event to Benefit Jobs for Maine's Graduates!
It's that time of year! The Retail Association of Maine is once again partnering with Jobs for Maine's Graduates (JMG), and launching an online auction, The Maine Event, on October 21st. The event will run for 2 weeks and close on November 3rd.
The mission of Jobs for Maine's Graduates is to identify students who face barriers in education, and to guide each one on a successful path toward continued education, a meaningful career, and a productive adulthood. JMG is a statewide nonprofit that works within Maine's public school system to assist students in reaching their greatest potential. JMG serves more than 4,500 students from grades 6-12, in 71 programs throughout Maine.
The Christmas trees are out, folks! With the holiday season quickly approaching, and Hanukkah preceding Thanksgiving this year, the Maine Event benefit auction is the perfect opportunity to donate to a genuine cause while picking up some great gift cards to get your holiday shopping underway.
The majority of the site boasts incredible gift cards from numerous, generous retailers. From Kittery Trading Post, Reny's, and Marden's, to Freeport's leading retailers, featuring Royal River Natural Foods, Danica Candles, and L.L. Bean, there isn't an item on the site that will disappoint.
Known for quality cuisine and fine products native to Maine, the benefit auction also features a chocolate lobster dinner from Haven's Candies and 2 available lobster course samplers, retailing at $200 each. This auction is a wonderful opportunity to sample some of Maine's finest, including decadant candies and homemade fudge from the Old Port Candy Company.
Also up for auction: An autographed Wes Walker Football, and the Portland Sea Dogs Sky Box, with luxurious accomodations for 22 of your closest friends, set to be available for prime baseball season, an evening in April of 2014.
This auction would not be a success without the amazing individuals who make up Jobs for Maine's Graduates, and fight everyday for the success and continuance of Maine's students. Our economy directly depends on nonprofit programs that work to ensure the future of our students and their successes.
With the exception of some exciting new donations on the auction site this year, the majority of our donations came from retailers who assisted in making this auction a huge success last year. A very special thank you to Maine's hardworking and charitable retailers who worked with us again this year to make the 2013 Maine Event possible.
A final thank you to our sponsors: Walgreens, National Association of Chain Drug Stores, Retail Industry Leaders Association, Altria, and the National Retail Federation. Thank you for your continued support of The Retail Association of Maine, and our partnership with Jobs for Maine's Graduates.
Lastly, we are making a final call for gift cards and items to benefit Jobs for Maine's Graduates. Please contact: email@example.com or upload your donation to our site. There is no donation too small to donate to this cause. Every dollar counts! Cheers to another successful Maine Event!
